My Favorite Drugstore Foundations Vs. Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation

Hola Amigos!! Here I am with my 3 favorite drugstore foundations and I will be comparing them with Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation. I mean, why not? This will answer many questions and clear many people’s doubts esp those asking me whether I prefer HB Faux filter foundation over my current faves. So let us just get started with it.

I have combination to Oily skin and the foundations I use are all suitable for oily skin ones also.

My top 3 favorite foundations are mostly drugstore. I can’t help it, they are the best and I love how my skin looks and feel when I have them on. The reason I am testing them against Huda Beauty foundation is because for me, these are my BEST of the Best products and after HB claims to give filter effect/finish, how could I just not test them accordingly.

So we are talking about Milani 2 in 1 Conceal + Perfect foundation, Maxfactor Facefinity 3 in 1, Karaja Photofinish pore minimizing foindation Vs. HudaBeauty Foundation.

Let’s discuss Huda Beauty Foundation first before we move on to the other 3 products so we know what we are comparing here.

Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation:

Disclaimer: This is my review, my feedback and my opinion on HB foundation based on how it performed on my skin. The pros and cons will be stated so do not expect this post to be “OMG my Holy grail” or ” WTF fail Product” kinda post.

Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation retails for AED185 at www.sephora.ae . Use one pump of product at first and blend properly as it is FULL coverage so you won’t need a lot. If you feel the need of adding, then only do it. It looks cakey on my skin , sits on my pores and fine lines DEFINITELY DO NOT give a “Filter” effect. Full coverage does not mean filter finish. Please get that thing straight. if you have naturally smooth and tight skin then yes, you will get the filter effect but then in that case many foundations will give you filter effect. In my opinion, in this real world, only snapchat gives you filter effect. In fact it made my pores more visible. I had it on for maximum 9 hours only as that’s the most I can stretch it to because by that point it started to crumble up on some areas on my face like forehead and around mouth so it was just smart to let it go. I found a buffing brush and a sponge to be the best ways to apply it. I believe this foundation will suit very oily, oily and combination to oily skin types. For dry skin , I think it will not look so flattering because of the cakey, powdery effect but of course you can try. So long story short , the Huda beauty faux filter foundation is a full coverage foundation that is not out of the world as people perceive it to be,definitely not the only one foundation that will give same result and I will show you 3 other foundations with same if not better result.

*Is it a bad foundation?

Definitely not.

*Is it better than Estee Lauder Double wear as it sounds almost the same?

Really depends on you but I will stick to my EL Double wear.

* Is it worth the price?

Heck no, scroll down you will know why . But if you love Huda then it will be worth your money.

Maxfactor Face Finity 3 in 1 Foundation :

  • formula is liquidy
  • dries to matte
  • blends beautifully
  • gives medium to full coverage
  • buildable coverage
  • Last me for a good 8 to 9 hours (that’s the maximum time I have makeup on)
  • Aed 98 from Lifestyle

I suggest avail the sale and promotions that happen at Lifestyle, Boots and Max fashion esp their apps.

Karaja Photo finish Pore Minimizing Foundation:(no. 1 for me)

  • formula is liquidy than the maxfactor
  • dries to matte but has a glow
  • blends beautifully
  • gives medium to full coverage
  • buildable coverage
  • makes pores look minimized.
  • Last me for a good 8 to 9 hours (that’s the maximum time I have makeup on)
  • AED 155 from www.bloggerssouk.com but you can get it for 30% off using code VH6578

Milani 2 in 1 Conceal + Perfect foundation :

  • formula is thicker but not as the Huda Beauty foundation
  • dries to matte completely
  • blends beautifully
  • gives full coverage
  • gives beautiful finish to skin
  • Last me for a good 8 to 9 hours (that’s the maximum time I have makeup on)
  • AED 49 from www.girliestuffs.com

Here is an update: Please go through each post to understand better and from here, I leave it on you guys to decide which one to go for. None of the above mentioned foundations are bad, it is all about your preferences.

And here it is – THE VERDICT- absolutely honest and unbiased. Disclaimer- the following review is based on how the product worked on my acne scarred skin! Yes, those are two different foundations on my face and look closely and you wont know which one is which. I am a huda fan and I for one was rooting for huda, and to get the unbiased opinion @veenaz_kit decided to not show me which foundation was being applied on which side – One a 50 AED foundation, one that retails for 185 AED In the battle between the drugstore vs highend- the DRUGSTORE won. Here is why- 👑both gave similar finish -💥huda started to cake after a while (the liquid to powder finish i suppose) 💥it did not give me the filtered finish i hoped it would (i would have run to sephora and gotten me a bottle had it done that- YES IM THAT CRAZY All in all- if i can get similar finish (better even) ⭐️⭐️⭐️why not spend on a 50 AED foundation than get one thats for 185 AED. 🌟🌟Ps- people who say to me- Ahh you didnt probably apply it in a certain way- i had a pro do this – plus- come on- theres no real complication to applying makeup. It just didnt work for me! Its a product people- nothing personal :p 🌟🌟 Head to @veenaz_kit as she uploads the video of my thoughts- she asked questions once she finished applying! It ll give you better knowledge #hudabeautyfauxfilter #hudabeautyfauxfilterfoundation #hudabeauty #hudakattan #bbloggers #dubaiblogger #uae #makeup #like4like #makeupaddict #sephora #dubaipr #influenster #uaemakeup #fauxfilterfoundation #review #bloggerlife
