Yes, you heard me right. You only need 6 makeup brushes for your basic makeup application. This post is for those who are not into makeup a lot, apply very minimal makeup or cannot afford a lot of brushes that will only be lying around untouched forever. Before anything, I would like to make this clear that, information shared in this post is based on my personal experience, might not be what you have experienced as we all have different point of views. What worked for me is what I am sharing.
Though I say you need only 6 brushes, but that is the minimum, and there is really no harm in getting more. These 6 brushes is ideal for basic makeup application but once you advance to a more sophisticated look, you will need more brushes as size does matter when it comes to eye makeup and other things that matters like highlighting/strobing etc.
But if you are a beginner, then this is for you.
So these are all the 6 brushes you would need in your beginners kit.
Foundation Brush- Apply liquid foundation
Powder Brush- For face powders, blush and bronzers
Eyeshadow Brush- to apply eyeshadow on the lid
Crease/ Blending Brush- To blend eyeshadow on the crease
Definer Brush- to apply eyeshadow on the lower lash line(not waterline), optional
Spooly- to comb eyebrow, optional (use washed and cleaned mascara wand instead)
Check out the pictures and video below for alternate brushes of each, can be bought separately or as a set but all these 6 brushes in one set is kind of impossible as I haven’t seen yet. If you can find a set ,do share with me and I will definitely check it out. Check the end of this post for the brushes I suggest and strongly believe in the quality.
